The Plastics Classification Committee held its fifteenth meeting in person and via the (Teams) platform, with the participation of representatives from nine entities representing various sectors (public, civil, private, and academic).

Dr. Muhannad Ismail, the committee rapporteur, stated that work on standards projects and the management of the committee were carried out through the newly adopted automation and digital transformation system approved by the المؤسسة’s Board of Directors. Representatives of partner entities showed cooperation and interest in reviewing and discussing the projects through the system, as remote participation facilitated all meeting procedures for everyone—from confirming attendance, to discussing documents, and concluding with electronic signing of the minutes and recommendations.

The rapporteur also reported that the committee had completed the review of nine Palestinian standards, referring eight of them for updating and recommending to the Board of Directors that one remain in force. This process falls within the ongoing review of all Palestinian standards that have been in effect for five years or more.

The committee also completed the review of seven draft standards and decided to submit recommendations to the Board of Directors to adopt all of them as new standards. It is worth noting that these standards fall within the sector of industrial valves and adhesives.

All of this comes in implementation of the annual plan of the Plastics Classification Committee.

It should be noted that the standards approved during the meeting will come into effect from the date of ratification by the المؤسسة’s Board of Directors.

The rapporteur indicated that the committee has set Wednesday, 20/05/2026, as the date for its sixteenth meeting.
