The Cosmetics Technical Committee held its twenty-seventh meeting on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, in a hybrid format (in-person and via Microsoft Teams), with the participation of representatives from eight stakeholder organizations.

The Committee Secretary, Dr. Ahmad Ghanem, stated that the committee approved the meeting agenda, which included the review of the following Palestinian standards:

• PS 3114:2021 – Cosmetics — Microbiology — Enumeration and Detection of Mesophilic Aerobic Bacteria.
• PS 3115:2021 – Cosmetics — Microbiology — Detection of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
• PS 3116:2021 – Cosmetics — Microbiology — Detection of Staphylococcus aureus.
• PS 3117:2021 – Cosmetics — Microbiology — Detection of Escherichia coli.
• PS 3118:2021 – Cosmetics — Microbiology — Detection of Candida albicans.
• PS 4313:2021 – Microbiology — Cosmetics — Guidelines for the Application of ISO Standards to Cosmetic Microbiology.
• PS 4314:2021 – Cosmetics — Microbiology — Microbiological Limits.
• PS 4315:2021 – Cosmetics — Microbiology — Evaluation of the Antimicrobial Protection of Cosmetic Products.
• PS 4316:2021 – Cosmetics — Microbiology — Testing of Impregnated or Coated Wipes and Masks.
• PS 4348:2021 – Cosmetics — Analytical Approach for the Screening and Quantitative Determination of Heavy Metals in Cosmetic Products.

These reviews are conducted in line with the requirements of Good Standardization Practices (GSP), which mandate the review of all active Palestinian standards every five years to ensure their quality and alignment with the latest internationally recognized technologies and methodologies.

The committee also decided to submit its recommendations to the Board of Directors to confirm the continued validity of four standards and to refer six standards for updating. Furthermore, the committee resolved to proceed with the development of the related update projects during 2026.
