Director General of the Palestinian Standards Institution Conducts Field Tour in Jenin Governorate to Strengthen Partnerships and Support National Industry
Jenin – The Director General of the Palestinian Standards Institution (PSI), Dr. Haidar Hajjah, conducted a field visit to Jenin Governorate, which included meetings with the Governor of Jenin, Mr. Kamal Abu Al-Rub, the Mayor of Jenin, Mr. Mohammad Jarar, and the Chairman of the Jenin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Ammar Abu Bakr. The tour also included visits to a number of industrial facilities as part of efforts to strengthen partnerships with national institutions and support the Palestinian industrial sector.
Dr. Hajjah began his tour with a meeting with the Governor of Jenin, where they discussed ways to enhance cooperation in promoting a culture of quality and implementing Palestinian standards in a manner that supports economic development and consumer protection. He emphasized that the Institution continues to expand its partnerships with official and economic bodies to enhance the quality of national products and improve their competitiveness. For his part, Governor Kamal Abu Al-Rub commended the Institution's role in supporting Palestinian industry, stressing the importance of coordinated efforts to serve the national economy.
Dr. Hajjah also visited the Municipality of Jenin, where he met with Mayor Mohammad Jarar. The meeting focused on prospects for technical cooperation, strengthening compliance with Palestinian standards in municipal projects and services, and emphasizing the importance of giving preference to national products in public tenders to support Palestinian industry. The Mayor highlighted the importance of cooperation with the Institution and praised its role in promoting quality standards and strengthening the national product.
At the Jenin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Hajjah met with its Chairman, Mr. Ammar Abu Bakr, to discuss ways to support industrial establishments and promote the implementation of Palestinian standards. During the meeting, he presented Palestinian Quality Certificates to Al-Karmel Ready-Mix Concrete Company and Hi Mix Ready-Mix Concrete Company after both companies successfully fulfilled the requirements of the Palestinian standards. The Chairman of the Chamber affirmed that promoting a culture of quality contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of Palestinian industry and creates broader opportunities for national products in domestic and international markets.
Dr. Hajjah concluded his tour with visits to Al-Nasr Factory and Marvel Cosmetics Factory, where he reviewed the production processes and listened to the key challenges and needs facing the manufacturers. He reaffirmed the Palestinian Standards Institution's commitment to providing technical guidance and support to national factories, contributing to improved product quality, enhanced competitiveness of Palestinian industry, and strengthening the position of Palestinian products in local and regional markets.
